It all began in 2017 and the musical journey continues to this day…

Aidan Ramos is a composer whose music seeks emotional resonance—where gesture, color, and silence shape expressive space. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Composition at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Ramos writes with a sensitivity to timbre and dramatic contour, often juxtaposing narrative, lyricism, and abstraction.

He has completed many works in his time at UTSA, including several chamber works, large ensemble pieces, and 2 solo pieces. His recent works L’Infierno and Wretched Things reflect his explorations into more abstract and experimental music. 

Ramos has also been recognized multiple times by the UTSA School of Music’s New Music “NuMu” Festival Call for Scores. His orchestral work In Moments was premiered by the UTSA Orchestra in 2025, and his Overture No. 1 was performed by the UTSA Wind Symphony after winning the festival’s Wind Ensemble category. The chamber work Of Love’s Wait also received an honorable mention.

In addition to composing, Ramos is active as a conductor and music theorist. He serves as Student Conductor and Assistant for the UTSA Boom Squad, where he channels his artistic vitality into dynamic collaboration with the ensemble. His creative work is complemented by music research; he has presented at the Texas Society of Music Theory and engages with atonal/post-tonal theory, aleatoric notation, and modernist music analysis.

He will continue expanding his artistic and scholarly work through graduate study at the Butler School of Music.
